October 10th: Water temps begin to cool in northern latitudes of North America, and California welcomes two NW swells from North Pacific storm systems. Baja California Norte cools offshore and Baja California Sur water temperatures drop a few more degrees off the highs of the summer.
Oct 1st, 2022:
Still considerable warming in the Sea of Cortes, but the Pacific Coast has seen a reduction of warm water in the region around central Baja, accompanied by seasonal NW wind events. Baja California Sur remains warm along the Pacific, south of Bahia Magdalena. Overall, this cooling pattern comes as a relief as it will push any remaining tropical storms off the coast several hundred miles into deeper, warmer water.
